# Case timeline template

One row per event. Add rows as the account develops. Nothing here is legal
advice; it is a way to organize facts before a lawyer reviews them.

| Date | Date certainty | What happened | People involved | Location | Supporting record | Record status | Open question |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| 2024-03-04 | Exact | Rear-end collision at a stop light | Client; other driver; responding officer | Eastbound exit ramp | Police report #2024-1188 | Held | Confirm the report timestamp against the client account |
| 2024-03 | Approximate | First treatment for neck pain | Client; treating physician | Urgent care clinic | Treatment record | Requested | Which provider holds the initial imaging |
| Unknown | Unknown | Employer told of missed shifts | Client; shift supervisor | Workplace | None | Missing | Was anything put in writing |

## How to use each column

- **Date certainty**: Exact, Approximate, Range, or Unknown. Record what the
person actually knows. A guess formatted as an exact date is worse than an
honest Unknown, because a later contradiction costs credibility.
- **Supporting record**: the specific document or person that backs this row.
Leave it empty rather than writing something vague.
- **Record status**: Held, Requested, Missing, Needs translation, or Needs
  review.
- **Open question**: what a reviewer would need to ask about this row.
