MatterGraph
About

Legal work needs clean facts. Intake rarely starts that way.

MatterGraph focuses on the work before research and drafting: turning calls, messages, documents, and uncertain dates into a sourced record the firm can review.

Every fact keeps its source

The thesis

Clients do not think in clean legal timelines.

Attorneys and paralegals need ordered facts, linked evidence, tracked tasks, and review notes. Clients have a story they remember out of order, in fragments, with the important detail often mentioned in passing and never again.

MatterGraph sits between those two worlds. It helps a client explain what happened, helps a paralegal collect what is missing, and helps an attorney review the result as a structured record rather than a pile of correspondence.

The durable product is the case event database underneath the conversation: what happened, who said so, what supports it, and what still needs review. The interview is one way facts enter that record.

Design principles

Three commitments that shape every decision.

01

Graph underneath, workflow on top

Clients should never feel like they are editing a database, and attorneys should never be made to work inside a network diagram. The structure powers the system; each role sees the interface that fits their job.

02

Provenance is not optional

Every fact keeps its source. What the client said, what a document shows, what a witness confirms, and what an attorney has approved stay distinguishable instead of collapsing into undifferentiated content.

03

The firm decides, always

Every AI-assisted output carries a review status. The firm decides what is accurate, what needs correction, and what may be used.

Boundaries

What MatterGraph is not.

This list is as important as the feature list. A product that claims everything is trustworthy about nothing.

  • Not an AI lawyer

It does not give legal advice, assess merit, or recommend strategy.

  • Not a research tool

It organizes the facts of your matter. It does not research the law.

  • Not a filing system

Nothing is submitted to any court by this product.

  • Not practice management

No billing, no payments, no e-signature, no CRM. It works alongside those.

  • Not a consumer product

It is sold to firms. Clients participate through their firm, never on their own.

  • Not a graph editor

The fact graph is infrastructure, not the interface. Nobody is asked to untangle a node diagram.

Where we are

Early, and saying so.

MatterGraph is an early-stage product with a working role-based preview. It is not presented as a mature platform, and this site does not use customer logos, performance metrics, or certifications that have not been earned.

The current preview is designed for evaluation with synthetic or fully redacted matters. That makes it possible to test the workflow before a firm makes any decision about production data.

The central product risk is workflow fit. Pilot feedback therefore focuses on how attorneys and paralegals review a matter, assign follow-up work, and decide whether the structure helps.

If this describes a problem you have.

Start with a representative synthetic or redacted matter, or email alex@getmattergraph.com with your questions.
